I think this weekend I might be just bored enough to consider making a bunch of Nintendo paper dolls.

I'm finally throwing away some of the things in my closet. But, just little things, like old Nokia chargers I don't need anymore, and this one weird cable that's a 9-pin D-connector on one end, and a microphone-style plug on the other.

I'll see how much I can get organized by 2:00, then it's off to pick what I'm going to do for dinner.

What do you usually do when you're faced with a long weekend, haven't made any plans, and aren't quite content to spend the whole weekend on your Playstation?

I went to azcentral.com, but the events calendar didn't show anything that was much fun... and when you page down enough times, eventually you get just a list of people's names. These are people who have particularly excessive Christmas light displays and have submitted to azcentral.com.

I think next weekend, or maybe the weekend after, I'll do a stroll around my neighborhood and look at lights. But this weekend, I wanna have FUN!

Since my weekend recipes were mostly of the "dump these ingredients in the crockpot" variety, I decided to go for a slightly bigger challenge and attempt an omelet. I had to put those six eggs in the fridge to some use before they started to hatch.

The first one turned into scrambled eggs because I stirred them too long. The second one ultimately failed because I skipped the step where you wait ten seconds.

I'm thinking of going to the store again tonight so I can pick up some more eggs; I'm pretty sure I can get this to work tomorrow morning.

My two most seldom-seen uncles attended Thanksgiving at my parents' house.

One of them was in the Army, and was stationed in Germany when I was very young, in the early 80's. I remember be brought me back a wallet with a map of West Germany on it.

I was talking with my aunt about traveling the world, and the subject of Berlin came up. I asked him if he'd been to Germany since the wall went down. He said "sure, I was there in, what, 1982?"

I pointed out that the wall went down in 1989, as evidenced by how he went to "West Germany" instead of "Germany".

Apparently he didn't remember the wallet as well as I did, because he thought for a moment and said "I went to East Germany."
