well, I met all five of yesterday's goals, though I think the web, on its own, isn't enough to plan a trip. I'm going to need a guidebook.

Planning a trip to Japan.

I'm aiming for:

• 7 to 13 nights
• Some time in Tokyo
• Some time in less urban areas
• Enough of an overview to possibly prepare me to apply for the JET program next year.
• Budget: about US$2000. I did a month in Europe for about that much.
• Interesting food.

I'm not aiming for:

• animated media. I'm a casual fan, so I might check some out, but my reaction might be the same as visiting any American anime shop: "Gee, there's a lot of... stuff."
• comic books. Not that I don't like them, but my visual impairment makes it difficult to read them, especially in other languages. Also, see previous bullet item.
• fugu. It would probably break my budget, and from what I hear it's overrated. OH LOOK AT ME I'M EATING REALLY BLAND POISON!

That's all I know.

Of course, if I can't make enough plans aside from wandering Tokyo and looking at vending machines, then maybe I'll shift gears and just return to Europe, to see all the stuff I missed.
