Damn, that "Wherever You Will Go" song is cropping up everywhere.

It was in that Star Track commercial, I heard it that one time I flipped through UPN and Smallville was on, so I thought it was like UPN's new theme. Now it's in the Kate and Leopold ads.

Who's been marketing this song?

My co-worker has a new cell phone.

With revolutionary new ringtones that sound like computers from 1985 instead of like wrist-watches from 1985.

Deaf people don't have it so bad.

I have two four-day weekends in a row coming up, and I'm not particularly looking forward to either of them.

My apartment begs to be cleaned and such, and I could catch up on some reading I've been meaning to do. But if I'm staying at my place, I'll be just as likely to just sit in front of the computer and refresh Livejournal all weekend.

There's also a party my parents are throwing. It'll be simply huge. That might be fun. But that leaves me seven days to fill.

Maybe there's a recipe out there I can attempt to cook. Maybe there will be marathons on TV. Maybe I'll finally finish the Protoss levels in Starcraft.

What I'd really like to do is spend a little time out of town. Jeremy said he might have to do some work in Sunnyvale; I was thinking about tagging along, but it turns out they're just going to fly him in barely long enough to do the work. Too bad; I haven't seen California in a long time.

I might housesit for my parents, as they are going out of town. That's not even close to an adventure, though. Booking a flight or train or bus for either weekend will be prohibitively expensive, and I can't drive. My brother works in the hospitality industry, so he'll most certainly be working, even if he were receptive to the idea. So am I just going to spend all that time stuck in Phoenix?

Well, I do think those Protoss levels were pretty cool....

Watching TV all weekend won't be so bad. They bring out the quality stuff on holidays.

Tonight they're showing a lot of Marx Brothers movies on TCM, for example. I think I'm starting to like them. "Love Happy" is on now, and Groucho's hardly in it. I never thought I liked too many musical numbers, but these guys seem to really make it work. And Harpo hides in a giant smoking penguin.
