I still can't believe they "re-imagined" Battlestar Galactica.

I mean, imagine if they took "Star Trek", rewrote a bunch of its backstory, and made Spock a hot babe so they could have sexual tension in every episode. That'd be the stupidest thing ever, right?

Depending on who you listen to, they're doing that already with Enterprise. What they're betting on is that they can catch new watchers with the updated elements, while old-school fans will continue to watch it simply because it's a lingering fragment of something they enjoyed when they were younger. All mediocrity aside. I imagine similar reasoning applies with Galactica as well.
