(no subject)

Haven't been posting much about goings-on in my life because I've been all introspective lately. The buzz from my influx of gadgets has worn off, and I'm left a little on the down side. I missed a dermatologist's appointment because Aetna's website had a totally wrong address. I missed [livejournal.com profile] littledevi's birthday party last night, but at least [livejournal.com profile] doubleonad came over to drop off my sunglasses and pick up his DVD's, being kind enough to wait while I watched the last half-hour of one of them. I should keep a bigger supply of beverages so I have something to offer when people come over.

The night before was a night on the town with [livejournal.com profile] junkhouse, in which I got him re-addicted to salsa dancing. I really didn't know he had any experience with it, but I knew he was into the music. I think I might start going with him, but I'm timid in that crowd.

Hey, like I said, no problem. I hadn't seen the movie in a while anyway.
Lemme know if you want to borrow anything else. You're always welcome to. http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mycollection.asp?alias=DoubleOnad

wow. I remember when people were passing around URL's of some guy's web page where he lists his CD collection, talking about "the most useless web page of all time", and now there's an entire website dedicated to something similar.

And as large as that collection is, I'm amused to say that I don't see any of my DVD's listed there. If you ever want to borrow William Shatner's "Incubus", the first three Good Eats DVD's, or the South Park Season 1 with commentary CD's, let me know.

There's actually a program you download from that site that lets you catalog your movies. It has all kinds of neat features, including built-in summaries, easter eggs, etc. It also helps you keep track of who you loan them to.
There's another catalog site like it at http://www.dvdaficionado.com but I don't like it as much.

I've considered buying the South Park DVDs, but I don't know how much I'd watch them. I may end up getting them later, when more seasons are available. As for Good Eats, I might be interested in checking those out. I enjoy the show, and Audrey would probably love to watch the DVDs.

With its help, I roasted a turkey and made bread pudding once, and had some THEMers over for it. It was excellent, although the electric knife kept falling apart. I then loaned the tape to the Conspiracy for when they had a Christmas dinner. It's totally changed our standards for turkey.
