MySpace sucks, plus it's useless for dating. It's mostly about keeping track of tiny bands.
If you want a "dating" site that isn't too difficult to figure out, try ConsuMating. It at least works on a really simple tagging principle. The problem with that is everyone's obsessed with tagging and popularity and nobody ever seems to date.
I think you can sum up the problem with every dating as: they're all self-absorbed. It's all about promoting yourself, increasing your popularity or friend count, getting the best comments/tags, whatever. No one is actually looking for anyone else, they're there to be looked AT.
