(no subject)

I don't get as excited about the future as I used to.

For example, this upcoming New Year's trip. I'm not excited about it. I wasn't excited about my Tokyo trip either, except a few brief flashes where I thought of something cool I'd be doing... but it faded quickly. I did enjoy myself when I was actually there, of course, but I didn't look forward to it all that much in the days and weeks leading up to it. Preparing for the trip was like doing homework.

Any ideas on why this is?

Becuase nothing deflates a trip faster then realizing that you left item X sitting on the top of your counter, and you really need item X right now.

Been there, done that.

nah, I either do without or I buy a new item X on the go. did that a couple of times in Tokyo.

That's no problem because it happens to me on every trip, and I expect it. It's a different thing every time.
