Now in stereo!

I just realized that my TiVo has been plugged incorrectly into my cable box for the last few years.

Thus, I've been recording everything with just the left stereo channel.  That explains a lot of strange things; those of you who care could probably guess most of them, armed with the knowledge that my TV does not have stereo, but I have rarely-used stereo speakers that I've always thought were broken.

I found out because I turned on my seldom-used stereo speakers, and found the TiVo's sound effects coming from a different direction than the program.

Of course, this means that I can delete all the stuff I've ripped from the TiVo... and that all the DVD's I burned from the TiVo have crappy sound.  What ev.

Naïve again!

So it occurred to me that the Pac-Man pillow at the grocery store might still be there, and I should brush up on my crane game strategy just to make sure.

Then I find this YouTube thing indicating the machines aren't just super-difficult, they're actually rigged.  But at least in a cheap and predictable way, so if you watch a bunch of people play in a row, you can see how many people have to lose before someone is allowed to win.

That's not going to work at a grocery store.

I forgot the number one rule of anything that tells you "you can win": you can't.  Just because it's not a slot machine or at the state fair doesn't mean you have a chance.
