(no subject)

I didn't put my groceries away, because I thought I bought all dry ingredients.

Four hours later, I remembered I bought buttermilk.

umm... I put it in the fridge just now, and, well, at least I also have to buy shortening, so I can just re-buy this if it turns out sour.

Except I don't know what buttermilk tastes like to begin with.

Also this was sealed and pasteurized. So I'm going for it.

But it also means I can't in good conscience use anyone as a guinea pig, hence why I haven't tried to enlist personal help of any kind...

If you know anyone who has carved a raw chicken before, I could use their supervision next time I try this.

4 hours is fine for buttermilk. It doesn't really go bad unless it molds up.

It does get a little separated in the carton. Shake before pouring.
